SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING PROJECT

Thanks to funding provided by the NH Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration, ACROSS NH is pleased to announce the launch of the Social and Emotional Learning Project. The Project is focused on supporting the afterschool community in developing and enhancing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in out-of-schooltime programs. The Project will provide various resources, including professional development, consultation, and other SEL supportive resources.

Two guides were developed for the NH afterschool and out-of-schooltime community: "A Guide to Social and Emotional Learning for the Afterschool Professional," and "A Suspension and Expulsion Prevention Guide for New Hampshire Afterschool Programs." Both downloadable guides can be found below. These resources have been created collaboratively by Abigail Blodgett, ACROSS NH SEL Project Coordinator, and Eric Mann, SEL Consultant of SERESC, Inc., the NH Afterschool Suspension and Expulsion Prevention Task Force, and ACROSS NH master trainers and consultants.

ACROSS NH will provide training and Technical Assistance (TA) to support the understanding and implementation of SEL policy and curriculum in afterschool programs. To request SEL TA, call us at (603) 206-6848 or email us at acrossnh@seresc.net.

SEL Day is March 26th!

Social and emotional learning (SEL) changes lives! Studies show that SEL improves well-being and academic outcomes, builds positive school climate, and provides children with the necessary skills to be successful. Yet many members of our communities don’t know about SEL yet.

SEL Day is an opportunity to spread the word about the importance and impact of SEL. Working together, we can raise awareness for SEL, bring on new SEL supporter, create artifacts that demonstrate SEL in action, share SEL best practices, involve families, and more!

Celebrate with ACROSS NH! The second annual International SEL Day is March 26, 2021. This is an opportunity to spread the word about the importance and impact of social emotional learning. Let's share what is happening in afterschool and out-of-schooltime in NH. Please consider sending a photo, video, or email about how SEL looks in your program to the ACROSS NH SEL Project Coordinator at ablodgett@seresc.net. Submissions must be received by March 22nd. Those who participate are eligible to win an SEL prize for their program! Click here for more details!
